Before I was a therapist, I was a musician. Through various stops as a freelancer, symphony orchestra administrator, and K-12 music teacher, I have learned the struggles that musicians face. Wanting to do something about the unique mental health needs of musicians is what inspired me to enter the mental health field.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas (license #75094) and I maintain a private practice where I work primarily with musicians, artists, and creatives. To learn more about my private practice, check out www.ultreiacounseling.com. As a performer, I work as a percussionist for many arts organizations in Austin, including the Austin Cabaret Theatre and Austin Summerstock at the Long Center for the Performing Arts. You can also find me hosting classical radio on Sunday afternoons on Austin's classical radio station, 89.5 KMFA.
In my spare time I love running marathons, fixing up my old house, and hang out with my wife, son, and cat.
